(makes 8 mini waffles or 2 large)

This is a recipe that I even feel guilty calling a recipe because it’s more of a hack on cooking premade ingredients and making it look real fancy. I’ll be honest, I’m not the biggest fan of those grocery store bought cinnamon rolls that you find in the refrigerated section. However, my mom had a tube of them in the fridge and wanted to make them for an easy breakfast. Instead of following the cooking instructions on the packaging, I turned them into mini waffles. Cinnamon rolls meet waffles with frosting AND syrup, can you imagine anything better?

If you don’t own a waffle iron, I suggest you buy one right now. I have the Dash mini (link below) and for only $10-$15 I have certainly got my money’s worth!

Note: This also tastes great with the Pillsbury Orange Rolls, which is what I have pictured for this post. These come out great topped with the orange flavored frosting, some fresh fruit, and whipped cream!

Ingredients:

- Pillsbury Cinnamon Buns (linked below, or similar)

- 1-2 tablespoons of Melted Butter (or cooking spray)

- Syrup

Instructions:

Preheat waffle iron while opening the cinnamon roll tube and separating the individual rolls. Using a basting brush, brush a little bit of butter on the top and bottom of the iron (you can certainly use cooking spray here). Add one roll at a time and press the top of the iron down until mostly closed. Cook for 60 seconds or so, pressing down a little harder half way through. You can certainly use a full sized waffle iron with this recipe by adding one roll per quarter, so 4 rolls per batch. I like to lay down a piece of tinfoil under the waffle iron for easy clean up!

Once all the rolls are cooked, pour the frosting that comes in the package all over the waffles.

Tip: put about an inch of hot water into a bowl and place the frosting container in the water, being careful not to get water in the frosting. This will allow you to get that perfect, even drizzle on the waffles.

Serve with your additional toppings of choice such as syrup, fruit and butter... just make sure it’s salted butter!
